Things to Do..

East End: These things are all accessible from Calabash Bight by boat/water taxi or local land taxi, no real need for a car.

  • Water Tours including a Mangrove Tour in Jonesville and the tiny community of Helene for a very local experience.
    We know the local tour operators who we trust to give you a good time and good value.
  • Fishing, Flats fishing (bonefish, permit, snook, tarpon) catch and release. 
    Spin Fishing & Deep Sea Fishing.
  • Diving with our local dive operator “Reef House”.
  • Snorkeling is available at the entrance to Calabash Bight & Port Royal.
  • Kayaking – two 1-person kayaks are available at no charge.
  • Hike Port Royal – with a local guide.
  • Sailing on our 44 ft sailboat right here at the dock.
  • Tiki bar – a very fun little local floating bar, small groups or private, inexpensive

Are there local restaurants?

East End: there are several pubs and restaurants offering a variety of live music on different days.
local ex-Pats usually frequent many of these places on certain days, so you can meet some new friends.  

  • Mondays    Camp Bay Beach is a beautiful unspoiled fantastic Beach on the north side of the island.
    ExPats get together on Mondays for a potluck and hang out day.
  • Tuesdays   Trico is a Bar/Marina in Jonesville accessible by water taxi.
    They get great live bands every Tuesday and offer locally brewed beer, cocktail specials, restaurant specials, and great ambiance.
  • ThursdaysLa Serena in Camp Bay has live music, killer rum punches, and great food. A very unique place. Don’t miss this one.
  • Fridays      –  BJ’s Backyard in Oakridge is the place to be for a live band and cold beer.
  • Weekends  – Bella’s Place – a beautiful restaurant overlooking the north shore (need a land taxi or car to get there),
    Puky’s in Jonesville for bbq and beers & Happy Landings in Oakridge
    Garifuna dancing in the village of Punta Gorda, and many others.

If this is not enough excitement, renting a car gets you to French harbor and the West side of the Island where there are innumerable restaurants, bars, shopping and beachy things to do.
